Senior Copywriter - HomeChoice (Southern Suburbs (Cape))

The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for developing the product copy for all marketing materials produced for HomeChoice including digital and print. You will write copy that sells, engages and entices the customer to buy the products.

Here’s what you can expect to be doing in the role

  • Write effective sales-driven copy for our products across all our retail categories
  • Ensure a consistent brand presence is maintained across all platforms
  • Write engaging copy that is clear and tailored to meet both the channel and target market profiles
  • Experience writing for retail market brands is preferred
  • Constantly strive to improve workflow and processes to work more efficiently and accurately
  • Deadline-driven
  • Effectively manage change in the creative department
  • Build interdepartmental relationships for effective communication

A little about who you are

  • Degree or Diploma in Copywriting, English or Communication
  • A minimum of 5 years’ copywriting experience in retail advertising, digital copywriting, direct marketing or below-the-line advertising
  • Ability to interrogate buyers’ product fact sheets in order to deliver customer-friendly, benefit-led, engaging product copy that sells
  • Able to take ownership and produce engaging product copy with minimum guidance
  • Computer literate (MS Office Suite)
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills
  • Good communication skills and an enquiring mind
  • Deadline-driven with a passion for retail
  • Innovative and articulate in communicating your ideas
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Problem-solver and proactive
  • Good planning and organisational ability
